When I start talking about blogging with small business owners, one of the first questions that’s asked is how often should business owners be blogging for their brand. I always joke that I don’t have a magic answer – but that’s the truth. Let’s take some time today to talk about how often to blog for your small business.
Tell me about how often to blog!
When it comes down to it, bogging is less about quantity and instead, about quality. While most of my clients blog once a week, not all do. And that’s okay! Some only blog twice a month and some blog more frequently. It depends on their unique brand and season of business. Each blog is optimized and useful for building their brand. The key is that they’re consistent. It’s more important to show up regularly – whatever that looks like for your business.
When you can show up consistently, you’re showing Google that you’re a real person and a real business. Regular updates to your website are important to help with your rankings – but only if those updates are quality and optimized, giving Google something to search and use to help you! That’s why I love blog posts. They’re an easy thing you can update each week (or biweekly) on a regular basis. You don’t have to stress about major site overhauls routinely… though you should absolutely keep your site up to date!
The bottom line?
Blog consistently for your business – whatever that looks like: once a week, twice a month, or more. Being consistent is the best thing that you can do for your blog!
