One of the things I’m asked most often when planning a portrait session is where to go. While I always think it’s great to pick a location that means something to you, sometimes that a) isn’t possible due to time/permits/money, b) isn’t possible because you’re not from here or c) you just would like somewhere different or more local feeling! Because of that, I wanted to share a few of my favorite locations around the area! I hope this helps someone out there find the perfect location for their session! This week’s location is the riverfront of Fredericksburg!
There’s a few access points I use, but no matter what, I LOVE being able to be on the water. I think it adds such a gorgeous element to portraits and most of the locations have absolutely perfect trees that help us have the most wonderful light during the sunset! I just LOVE it. This is truly one of my favorite locations in the summer!
This kind of location also allows for a many great opportunities for little ones to be, well, little. They can dip their tiny toes in the water, play in the sand or run around the trees. There’s plenty of safe space for them to explore – which is always fun to capture! Being little is one of the things I love to document for you – so these kinds of natural environments are great for family sessions!
What do you think about the waterfront? Your session location or maybe not so much? Stay tuned for other location options on the blog this summer! 🙂 And remember, while these may be some of my favorites, I’m ALWAYS up for a new location! Got one in mind for your session? Let’s chat here!
