Fatherhood in Portraits | Northern VA Family Photographer

Sometimes when it comes to my photography, I feel like fathers get left out. I’ve spent a lot of time creating a business around the bonds between parents and children but always seem to capture mommas and their little ones! And while that’s a beautiful bond, we can’t forget the dads! Fatherhood is such a unique journey! Fathers hold such a special place in my heart – probably because I got one of the best ones in the world and I married into a family with a great dad too! Since Father’s Day is coming up this weekend, I thought I’d take some time to highlight some of the fantastic fathers I’ve been lucky to photograph over the years!

Dads, thank you for being amazing. For making your kids laugh for me, for hugging them, for smiling at the camera when you’re probably more than ready to be done, for loving on your wife for me and for remembering that these memories go by so fast – capturing them is such a powerful way to remember them forever. Thank you for being patient, for being hard-working and for being so wonderful to work with. Fatherhood is such an amazing journey and I feel so blessed to be able to capture it.
