I went to school in Winchester, VA and that’s where this whole photography business really got started (and I’m SO thankful for all of my amazing classmates who trusted me with their headshots + recital posters). Because of having started my business there, I still have a client base and I love when I get to travel back to those mountains for portrait sessions. There’s so many beautiful locations to photograph in the mountains, but one of my favorites has always been Blandy’s Experimental Farm.
The farm is beautiful during all seasons – but especially during the spring and fall when the flowers first bloom and then the leaves all begin to change colors. The space is limitless (okay, not really but it’s quite expansive!) and I’ve been lucky enough to photograph all over the campus. There’s really something for everyone – brick and stone, fields, wooden walkways, trees and open spaces. I absolutely adore the colors all times of year and I can’t get over the fact that this property is right our backyard!
It’s one of my favorite locations to take families too because kiddos have plenty of space to run around and burn off steam during our shoot – without having to go too far or get into any trouble! Plus it’s great to just been in one location and have SO many options for backgrounds, settings and feels. I love any location that’s going to give me that much variety.
Want to explore Blandy’s for your next session? Let’s chat HERE! And remember, while these may be some of my favorites, I’m ALWAYS up for a new location! Got one in mind for your session? Let’s chat about that!
xoxo
