It’s time for me to share what MY mom has to say about being a mother to me and my sister Megan. She’s been an amazing influence and I’ve always admired her as a mother. She’s got some great things to say about her motherhood journey!
Tell me a little bit about each of your children (a little silly, I know!).
I have 2 daughters – one is 24, a newlywed and new homeowner, Kristina. The other is 22 – an almost college graduate, Megan. Both are very warm, loving, responsible young women – capable of anything they set their hearts on!!!!
I also have two “sons”. One is my son-in-law, Ryan who is married to my oldest. He’s full of energy and always up for a good laugh with us. The other is my second daughter’s long-time boyfriend, Arthur who’s a talented actor and wonderful young man. Although I didn’t raise them, I still feel very lucky to call them part of my family.
What made you want to become a mother?
I always wanted to be a mommy. As far back as I can remember being a mommy was something I was going to do/be in my life. 🙂
Since you became a mother, how has your life changed? How are you hoping it will change or continue to change?
When I became a mommy – my life changed in a big way – ALL GOOD 🙂 It has been the most rewarding experience of my life. Watching little people come into their own personality and become their own person as caring – helpful – positive influencing adults has be an awe-inspiring experience.
What was the best advice you got while you were pregnant or had your children?
Sleep when the baby sleeps and remember this too shall pass. “They’re only small for a little while”. 🙂
If you could give one piece of advice to other mothers, what would you tell them?
Remember that you are their mommy and you know what is best for your baby/child. 🙂 Enjoy every precious moment that you have – good or bad – because it all passes in the blink of an eye.
Childhood goes so quickly! What is your favorite way to capture your children’s growth and lives?
We are big picture people, and savers – I have saved quite a few things that my girls have made over the years. Each holiday when I pull out the decorations I still have things that my girls made for me and set them out – PROUDLY- on display with all of my other holiday decorations.
I LOVE YOU, MOMMY!!! Thank you for being a part of this series!!!! Happy (early) Mother’s Day!!
XOXO,
Kristina
