Let me just say, being an aunt is seriously the coolest feeling in the world! Getting to be an aunt to a little girl and her precious little brother while capturing the first moments a family of four has together? Absolutely priceless. When we found out we were going to be an aunt and an uncle again, there was no way in the world we were going to miss being there when our sweet nephew was born! And boy, was it worth it!
Jeffrey arrived the 29th of December, just a few days before the New Year! He was very healthy upon arrival–the sweetest little boy I’ve ever seen. Okay, maybe I’m a bit biased because he’s my nephew. But, either way. Isn’t he adorable? His parents are my in-laws and I was so glad I could be there for them when my niece met her baby brother for the first time and when mommy + son arrived home on New Year’s Eve. It was definitely something quite special to capture all those moments… particularly because my niece really wasn’t sure what that little thing was her momma was holding and what all was going on. It was quite sweet. I know I must have looked at my parents that way when my sister came home.
I spent so much time cuddling this sweet baby boy and I was THRILLED when I asked Brittany + Jeff if they wanted any pictures of him before I left and they said yes! Poor Jeffrey was chilly (Ohio is cold, ya’ll!) and starting to get hungry but isn’t he the most precious baby? I loved some of the shots Brittany asked me to get because we got to incorporate so many fun things–a tiny little Buckeye, an adorable Texas Longhorn, the onesie that made Brittany want to decorate the nursery with elephants and the blanket I made him! Not to mention their Bible–something that has been such a source of strength to this family from the moment they found out they were expecting him (unexpectedly!) through his birth (he did NOT want to come out into the world, poor Momma–she is a CHAMP!!!!). He put up with his aunt snapping a million pictures when he was just a few days old.
I’m just sharing a few of my favorite newborn photos today because I can’t not share them any longer!! I love this boy so very much! Watch out for some of his first moments home and meeting his family next week! 🙂 I cannot wait to watch him (and his sister) grow up! I’ve loved every minute so far!!
XOXO,
Kristina
