It has been a long couple of weekends here in the Dowler household! We spent last weekend traveling to Ohio to be with Ryan’s family and friends along the lake (since our boat trip had to be cancelled!) and this weekend, we spent helping my parents move. It’s been a lot of driving, lifting and stairs but despite that, there’s so much I’m grateful for that I want to share with you!
1) Being able to spend time with my in-laws, niece + nephew. Since everyone lives far away, the times we’re together are incredibly special. My niece and nephew are growing so fast and hearing Savannah call me “KK” is probably the highlight of my life right now. They get big so fast so I’m always thankful when we get to see them and make new memories. It makes me so happy that they recognize us even though we’re far away!
2) My physical abilities. I’m no body builder and I’m not even that in shape to be totally honest. But I’m thankful for what I’m capable of doing – running miles on end, lifting boxes for my family, walking up and down stairs a hundred times. I’m thankful for my sister in law pushing me to keep up with training and to never expect less from myself.
3) My parents. If they didn’t live so close and love Shelby so much, we’d have had to drive 6+ hours with our pup who probably wouldn’t have been too thrilled in the car or having to figure out 10 other dogs along the lake. I’m so thankful that my parents were willing to add one more thing to their very full plate to allow us to go away for a few days. I’m also grateful that we can be here to help them right now. They’re going through a lot of changes and yet they manage to be here for us more than ever. Their selflessness will never cease to amaze me.
and…
4) I’m thankful for Ryan. Because no matter what, he makes me laugh, drives 5 hours in the car at a time and understands why I’m stressed out when our plans change so fast and my to-do list is a mile long. I’m grateful for his hard work to make our house into our home and being willing to pick up the slack when I’m overwhelmed. I can’t thank him enough for doing the heavy lifting for my parents and never complaining about it. I love you, Ryan! Thanks for putting up with me!
What are you grateful for?
XOXO,
Kristina
