Although life has changed a lot since I was in college (which feels like forever ago but I know really wasn’t…), one thing hasn’t changed: my Ohana. This weekend was truly one for the books – an engagement session with one of my AMAZING couples, celebrating 8 months of marriage with Ryan, a road trip to visit my dear friend Cody with my ladies, Chloe and Krystie (my Ohana!). It was a weekend that was full of the things closest to my heart! Come check it out!
Friday night, I kicked off the weekend with an engagement session that will be featured Wednesday (so come back and see it then!). It was freezing but a great chance to visit and shoot in Downtown Occoquan. It may be one of my new favorite places to shoot!!!! Despite the freezing temperature, Ryan and I got ice cream that night to celebrate 8 months of marriage (a day early!). I don’t care what temperature it is outside, ice cream is THE BEST THING EVER. Am I right?! It was a nice chance to slow down and be with each other. And Saturday morning, before I hit the road, we started watching Fuller House! AHHHH. IT’S AMAZING!!! Who else is watching?! Thoughts?!?!
This weekend was also super special because I got a chance to spend most of it with my Ohana. My family from college. These three are some of the best friends you’ll ever have. Us girls headed down to surprise Cody at his penultimate “Cabaret” performance at Lynchburg College. Despite the GPS almost getting us lost a few times – including telling us the theater was over a bridge – we made it. And Cody was SUPERB! The whole production was wonderful. We’d never seen “Cabaret” and if you haven’t, just know it’s a little darker than you might guess. Cody was truly an inspired Emcee! And isn’t his makeup AMAZING?! It was SO good to see them and talk and laugh and discuss another trip to Disney down the road. It’s just wonderful to have friends like that – the ones you may not see often, but they’re always a part of you and you know the moment you’re back together it’s like you’re laughing on the floor of your college dorm room and no time has passed at all. I love you, my dear Ohana. <3
I hope you all had a lovely weekend doing the things you love and enjoy this beautiful almost spring day!! Happy Leap Day! 🙂
XOXO,
Kristina
