Our last Christmas celebration as a married couple actually took place in the new year! How fun is that? Ryan’s family is from Ohio and his brother and sister-in-law were pregnant with their second child with a due date around New Year’s, so we knew that NYE would be spent up in OH this year. Obviously, we decided to wait to have Christmas when we could all be together after the baby came! So our last Christmas celebration was truly a joyous one!
Since our nephew was born on the 29th, we got to spend those few days while Momma and the baby were resting with Ryan’s parents and our niece, which was a blast. We got to take her into Cleveland and see the aquarium, as well as our favorite sandwich place. Definitely an AWESOME day! We then got to take her to the hospital to meet her baby brother (more on that in another blog post).
Brittany and the baby came home on NYE, so we were able to relax and enjoy some time with her and the baby as they began to adjust to life as a family of four. The day after, we all got to exchange gifts! (So, does that mean in 2016, we actually already had Christmas??). It was so much fun, especially because our niece is slowly getting the hang of what gifts are and how to open them. Ryan and his brother put together her new picnic table and she got tons of dress up stuff from her grandparents! Gift giving is truly so much more fun when a little one is involved!
The rest of our trip was filled with baby snuggles and football games and delicious food–a perfect way to end our Christmas festivities for our first year married! I can’t believe we made it through the holidays! WOO HOO!
What were the holidays like your first year married? Tell me about!
XOXO,
Kristina
