Oh y’all! I had the best time Saturday in Harrisonburg at Blakemore’s Flowers and Boutique getting to photograph It’s Your Day (IYD)’s Galentine’s I Can Do Calligraphy Y’all class featuring Maghon Taylor of All She Wrote Notes! I’ve never seen anyone do calligraphy – let alone teach it and let me tell you, I didn’t even take the class and I’m HOOKED! Jessica from IYD did an amazing job styling the chocolate + s’mores bar and the details for the participants. You won’t want to miss this post!

If you’ve never met Maghon from All She Wrote Notes, you’re truly missing out. This sweet Southern girl has a heart of gold and such talent! She spent 2 hours teaching these women a new script – her script and the basics of calligraphy. I’m serious, it’s the next thing I’m going to learn! The women were laughing and having fun – I don’t think any of us realized how fast the 2 hours went by. Calligraphy is truly an art – there’s a good posture for it, pieces of equipment (nibs anyone?) and lots of muscle memory when it comes to down and up strokes, but all of our participants nailed it! It was really something to see their personal styles come out in their letters as the class wore on.

Jessica, from It’s Your Day styled a delicious chocolate bar featuring so many yummy goodies- it definitely has quick started my Valentine’s Day chocolate need! The s’mores bar featured homemade (YES, HOMEMADE!) grahamn crackers and marshmellows from Bijou Sweets in Luray!. They were delicious and everyone loved them! She also put together all the sweet details for the participants including the beautiful pink roses I’m still swooning over!
