When you start to write blogs often, it’s no surprise that occasionally it feels like you’re writing the same thing over and over again. I promise you – the only person that notices is you, but I totally get how it feels. If you’re looking to keep your blog content fresh, check out these three EASY tips below!
#1: Use a Client Questionnaire
Have your clients help you out! Send them a brief questionnaire as part of your onboarding process or while planning for your session/wedding with them. Ask a few questions about their relationships and who they are when they aren’t with you. This can become really great copy for your blog to show some of their personalities along with the information about their session or wedding.
#2: Mix up the type of content you share.
If you’re writing a wedding blog every time you sit down, it’s no surprise they feel like they sound the same. So instead of sharing every wedding back to back, throw in some educational content for your clients or a personal post about the business and you. When you mix up what people are reading on your site, any “repeats” will become less noticeable.
#3: Don’t stress it too much.
We all have a natural way of speaking – one that makes it obvious it’s us. Our writing is the same way. The odds of someone reading your blog and feeling like you just said the same thing a week ago are slim. I mean, obviously try to mix it up some – don’t use the same three words to describe your sessions – but don’t feel like you have to drag out the thesaurus every time you sit down to write. In many ways, having a consistent flow to your blogs is good, actually. It helps to highlight your brand voice! So, seriously – don’t sweat it.
Writing blogs can feel tough. But look at every chance to write one as a time to share a new story with your audience. Think about what made that session or wedding special and highlight it. Work on a few personal posts and education that’s meaningful to your audience. Whatever it is, when you have a plan (and know it doesn’t have to be perfect), you’ll be surprised the freedom you suddenly find yourself with to write and easily keep your blog content fresh.
