Ashley and Ian have been with me almost since the start of this whole journey–I am so blessed to call them family! This was my second session with these two lovebirds and it couldn’t have been more fun! I absolutely love getting to work with them, who wouldn’t? I love the way that Ashley looks at Ian and how much they laugh together. This is what love looks like, people!
I texted Ashley at the beginning of fall, chatting back and forth about a photo session that would really highlight the gorgeous trees and light that we were getting. She was absolutely down to model for me, telling me she had just been telling Ian that she wanted fall pictures of them so it worked out perfectly! We agreed to meet in Fredericksburg and I knew I wanted to use the waterfront to really get a chance for that light to come through (and isn’t it yummy?!). But the day of the session quickly became one of those days. I didn’t have to work my normal job but I got up early to head to the session–my breakfast exploded on me, the sky was overcast… and then… Google Maps LIED to me!
I pulled up Google Maps to get directions and make sure I wasn’t too far behind schedule as I left and when I did, I was told the park that we had chosen for the session was going to be CLOSED until an hour after our session was to be done!! As I was heading to the session, I was frantically calling Ashley letting her know I’d find another easy-to-find location quickly! If you know anything about downtown Fredericksburg, you know that you’ll get lost (if you can even find parking) if you’re not careful because there’s so many one way streets and new short cuts that didn’t always exist. I drove by our original location to see that the gate was open but I was too nervous to risk it, so I kept heading to the new promising location. However, we arrived there and found it was nothing like we thought — a total bust! We decided to head back to the original park and go for it since the gate was open after all! Guess Google lied… Despite all of that, we were still lucky enough to have some gorgeous morning light on the riverfront to enjoy!
Thanks for hanging in there, Ashley + Ian, especially that early in the morning!! We got some absolutely beautiful shots—enjoy a few of my favorites!
XOXO,
Kristina
