Kelly and I met Saturday morning for her maternity session in Downtown Fredericksburg, VA along the riverside which is simply stunning at sunrise! I had so much fun with this sweet momma-to-be documenting this amazing time in her life by capturing these maternity portraits. I was so excited to be able to expand my client closet choices for her session and LOVE the beautiful Jessica Simpson maternity dress that she chose to wear! I think it stood out perfectly against the wintery (and maybe slightly spring-y) landscape we were shooting in.
It was so chilly out Saturday morning but Kelly never complained! She snuggled into her sweater for some shots – which I think is the cutest!! But she never once complained. She’s such a champ! If you don’t know Kelly, then you are missing out! Kelly is so full of light and love. I can’t tell you enough how much I enjoyed spending this time with her! I know she’s nervous about being a first time momma but I can just feel it in my bones that she is going to be an amazing mom to Baby George! He is so lucky to have such a sweet mother to love on him!!
I loved being at the river side for this shoot – the colors of spring are just starting to show but I personally love the browns of winter that are still out there. The river side provides several unique beautiful back drops for portrait sessions of all types but there’s just something extra special to me about these portraits done in nature! Like I mentioned earlier, Kelly chose a beautiful Jessica Simpson maternity grow for our session and I just love the way the patterns looked against the trees and paths we chose to photograph by.
