One of the questions I’m asked most of all is what to wear for a session with me. While I think wearing what makes you feel beautiful (or handsome) is most important, I think there’s a few ideas that are helpful in making sure the images we’re creating together come out the way we imagined so that you’re absolutely happy with our time together. I’m starting a mini series on the blog as way to share some fun outfits and looks I’ve found along the way with my clients – both current and new so that we can prep for your session together! It’s been a lot of fun looking for these outfits and I hope you find something that inspires you for your session this year!

            The first blog in this mini series is all about maternity sessions – for mommas who are expecting little girls! Immediately, a pastel palette comes to mind: pinks, yellows, and purples. Of course, I love a good white or grey too! The color of your outfit doesn’t have to be indicative of the little one you’re bringing into the world but it’s definitely a fun way to share the news! Floral prints are also a way to stay feminine in your clothing choices.

            Expecting mommas are always glowing and beautiful no matter what they wear but I happen to think long flowing dresses are the best for maternity sessions. I do have two beautiful dresses you can use for the session – I’ll be posting about them soon! J There’s plenty of fabric to play with – for a breezy look or to pull around the beautiful belly we’re documenting! These long dresses help make sure momma looks tall and I think they’re flattering on everyone! There’s also the option for a tighter dress, too! These tighter outfits help display momma’s bump easily and make for a more sophisticated look. Either can be made up with a floral crown or statement jewelry! These are by no means an expectation for someone to coming to a session with me, but merely suggestions for those who want a little extra help! I know whatever my clients choose to wear makes them feel special and beautiful, which is my main goal! When it comes to maternity sessions, the focus is truly about celebrating the journey you and your body have been on together to bring your little joy into the world.
