February 18th is here again which means my little sister has made another trip around the sun. And what a year it’s been! Since her last birthday, she’s become a graduate of Christopher Newport University, moved out on her own, gotten her first “real” job and settled in nicely to adulthood. I know this year ahs been filled with ups and downs – many moments of uncertainty but you have fought through them and come out stronger on the other side. Little sis, I’m so proud of you!
I know I say that every year, but I truly mean it. You’ve become a very smart and driven young woman over the last few years (although I’m sure you were always that way, it’s really just come out since then). I hope your special day is full of laughter and energy and I’m thrilled we’re spending another birthday celebrating all of the family members we love so much. Your birthday should be a great time to reflect on who you’ve become over the last year and where you want to go. I know that no matter where it is, you’re going to do big things. You have a heart that’s full of love and good nature and that’s hard to find these days. Don’t ever lose that.
I’m lucky to be your big sister – I’m reminded time and time again of that fact. We have something really special in each other. Being sisters is an interesting relationship – no matter what, we have each other. I hope you never forget that I’m in your corner cheering you on. Keep smiling and swimming, as Dory would say and never stop believing in the magic of hard work + a little bit of fairy dust. Happy birthday + wish hard when your candles come around. Enjoy your 23rd trip around the sun!
xoxo,
Kristina (and Ryan)
