Kristin! I just LOVE you. I am so lucky that you have been a part of this project – I have absolutely loved getting to know you (so far – and I can’t wait to keep getting to know you!). Seeing you pregnant and now getting to meet your sweet little boy has been such a JOY! You are a natural momma!
Kristin completed her questionnaire when she was pregnant with Jon but I wanted to wait until he was here to share her sweet answers!!
Tell me a little bit about each of your children.
I am expecting my first baby boy around July 20th! (He’s here!!!! Sweet baby Jon!)
What made you want to become a mother?
I’ve always wanted to be a mom since I can remember. I have the most amazing Mom who is a huge inspiration. Her life was her family and children and it showed in everything she did. I couldn’t wait to become a mom so I could share everything with her, learn from her and love my children as much as she loved my sister and I. She passed away almost 3 years ago and it’s devastating to not have her here to meet her third grandchild. This is the happiest time of my life but there’s always a hint of sadness when I remember my son won’t be able to meet his amazing Grandmother. But I will make sure he knows about her and how much she loves him everyday.
Since you became a mother, how has your life changed? How are you hoping it will change or continue to change?
I get told over and over again how much my life is going to change once he is born. This might be naivety, but I’m ready. Being a mother is something I’ve always wanted to be and I can’t wait to hold my little guy and watch him grow. I’m so thankful that I get to experience motherhood and I can’t wait to get started!
If you could give one piece of advice to other mothers, what would you tell them?
I know each pregnancy is different for each woman and some have more difficulties than others but in the end, a wonderful thing has happened. You’ve created a life with your partner. A living, breathing reminder of your love. You’ve created another human and that’s incredible! Not every woman is fortunate enough to experience this so enjoy your pregnancy (or what you can!). Even if it’s for a millisecond, be happy that you’ve done an amazing thing! It may seem to drag on and on while you’re going through it, but it’s only a blip in the amount of time you get to spend with your child.
Childhood goes so quickly! What is your favorite way to capture your children’s growth and lives?
Right now I’m taking a picture every week of my bump. After he’s born, I know I will take pictures of him everyday (most likely every minute!) but I will do a monthly photo to document his growth.
Can you tell me one of your favorite memories of your family or you and your children?
I don’t have a specific memory that stands out at the moment but I remember a lot of love and laughing. I hope that’s what I can do for my own son. He is so loved already and I know he will be surrounded with people that love him just as much. I want nothing but good memories and his life to be filled with love. I’ll feel like I did my job as a mother if he looks back on his childhood with a smile.
You are such a beautiful momma! I can’t wait to watch your journey with Jon!
XOXO,
Kristina
