As you may have noticed if you follow my social media accounts, at the end of April I attended a mentoring session with Allyson Boop of Allyson B Photography. That weekend was crazy busy but so much fun! I met up with Allyson because I’ve been hoping to start focusing my business on the beautiful mommas, babies and families I’m blessed to know and capture. Allyson is an extremely talented fine art photographer down in Williamsburg and I absolutely adore her work, so it seemed like the perfect fit when I found out she offered mentoring sessions!

We started our session off by chatting about how to structure my business, changes to the website (this new site is thanks to her suggestion!), posing tips, and just general advice to answer any question I had! Her work is truly stunning and her business is so well structured that I walked away with many wonderful thoughts running through my head about all the changes I’m looking forward to making.

After we chatted, we headed to Yorktown Beach to photograph a mommy + me session and let me tell you – it was BEAUTIFUL. Even if it was a little bit windy and chilly, I think it was a great learning opportunity and I’m seriously in love with these pictures!!!

There’s a lot of wonderful changes to K. Dowler Photography as I start to make the transitions into this new world. I love the relationships that are built between parents and their children and I think it’s so important to capture those moments and stories. I want those stories to be shared and remembered. I want you to have these images – these stolen moments so you never forget what it feels like to be a family and so your children never forget. I can’t wait to share some beautiful printed products with my clients to make sure they can see their memories + their children can see them for years to come.  I can’t wait to better serve all of you!
