For the last almost two years, my team and I have used Trello to organize our client workflows and blog prep for 20+ clients. We absolutely LOVE Trello and wanted to share exactly WHY it’s our favorite software to use. Whether you’re running a team of writers or simply hiring your own VA, here’s a few reasons that you should consider using Trello to organize blog prep for your own business!
#1: Communication is streamlined.
One of the reasons that I love Trello so much is that we can communicate easily within boards and cards for our clients. Our clients can easily leave us feedback right on the card for the post we’re working on and we can also send our own messages to them. This helps provide everyone with a digital footprint and history of the work. It also allows us to streamline communication instead of sending emails with questions or concerns. Everything stays contained, which I’m all for!
#2: Easy to use boards.
Trello is super user friendly. In fact, many of my clients didn’t use Trello before we came along. They’ve learned how to use it by using our Trello blog schedule. Many of them tell me how easy it is to use and I swear, that’s why I love it. It’s super easy to adjust the cards if you need to change your blog schedule or to re-order them. I want to create systems that are useful for clients but also easily adaptable because life happens. I like that many of my clients do a brain dump each month of their sessions or topics and then re-arrange the cards quickly in the way that makes the most sense for them. Drop and drag cards make it super easy to adjust on the fly. And, I love that we can make checklists or templates to copy for new content – no more writing the same thing 20 times!!
#3: Trello makes it fun!
Alright, so this is really just a silly reason… but Trello makes the user experience really fun. You can customize your board backgrounds, add emojis to lists, and even watch confetti pop when you check off your list or add a card to a list with the “🎉”emoji in the title. Running a business is a full-time job, so you need to find the little joys where you can! I love that Trello creates such a great time for us. Trust me, it makes the experience of checking off your to-do list that much more enjoyable!
Trello is a wonderful organizational software for business owners. Whether managing a team or just trying to keep yourself on task, I love how easy everything in Trello is to use and maintain.
